Computer for a friend that wants to play baldurs gate and new gamesd

Friend has the same computer for a long time. They don't have much money, but I was thinking that I would help them with some of it. I think this might be too powerful perhaps? What would be a good PC?

It's a bit expensive for what performance you get out of it. The CPU is a bit overkill for a 3060ti, Pure Rock 2 is not worth the money. ddr5 cost a lot after all, at least if you want decent cast latency from an xmp profile, you can also buy in the mhz/cl by yourself in bios but it's a bit of work. The psu is way to strong for the build and cost a lot even for that wattage.

The computer under will more or less have the same performance in most games, the 13600kf might help in some games which a CPU heavy, but outside of that it's more or less the same. Went with ddr4 to keep the price down and the latency/mhz good.

What screen resolution are they gonna use?

Same price range, white build (could do a 13600kf/z790 or wait for 14th gen which will come out in October where low/mid range CPUs will get an upgrade. But as you say a computer in this price range is a bit overkill and the 4070 is not the best value (you can get a bit more performance with a 6950 cost at the same price and the same performance as a 4070 for 100 less with a 6800 xt). Yes i took 4070 just bec it was white~

They don't have that good of a monitor as far as I know, I gotta ask. I would say either 1920 x 1080 (max 2560x1440)

The white case is important, at least the aesthetics of it it's important for them. Maybe I should also reduce then from 32GB to 16GB?

I am not sure about the RX 6700XT. Is it that better than the 3060Ti @anounce? This is similar to what you built, just changed the case and the GPU. Wdyt? I am thinking about the power for this friend to update this CPU later as well.

Isn't it worth to invest in DDR5 now? Maybve the dfifference is not that big yet?

Rtx 6700 xt got more or less the same performance as a 3060 ti in 1080p, but the 6700 xt have a better 1% lows in 1440p which makes it more suitable for higher resolution. 3060 it drops below 60 fps while the 6700 xt doesn't.

The build you got there don't get the best upradering possibility for the future, NZXT LGA1700 N5 Z690 is a decent motherboard but if you want to upgrade to a 13-14th gen CPU in the future you will have to update the bios which is more work overall. The motherboard don't get Pcie 5.0 16x (next gen gpu standard) support which means if you want to change gpu in like 4-7 years you will have to switch the motherboard out, its nothing you will get any value from before that.

When it comes to ddr5 then its not really worth it at this price point and it takes a bit of work to get a decent latency with ddr5. The difference is between 1-10 fps with ddr5.

Still took at 6700 xt but feel free to switch it for whatever gpu that you feel is right for their usage, I switched the motherboard to one with piece 5.0 and bios that support any gen CPU from the start. Took a 850 watt psu so when they want to upgrade the gpu they won't have to buy a new psu, went down to 16 gb ram to keep the price a bit low. Took a white cooler, but if it dont matter then go for the cheaper one.

Exempel of the cheapest ddr5 computer, there will be a refresh on 13th gen cpu in oktober which will make the low end and mid cpus a bit better so if you want to run ddr5 i would wait for them to come out.

The motherboard is an Matx in an atx chassi so it will look small, just a heads up. A atx motherboard will cost 2000kr+.

I see. Probably better to just go ddr4 for now. The focus is saving money and have a computer that will last some good years and upgradable in the future

Yeah over all i think its better to go ddr4 at this budget, in 2-3 years there will be more high mh/cl kits out here for secound hand prices as well so if there is a need for more proformence there still better kits out there.

There is a cash back for 50 euro from buying a 6750 xt from Asus from Inet right now so the price is around what a 6700 xt cost.

That's awesome. Thanks so much. By the way, what kind of screen would you recommend for a build like this? You really know your stuff @anounce

Do they want a 24" or 27" inch screen?

If you go for a 24" screen I would recommend a 1080p panel and for a 27" i would go for a 1440p. I'll post some low-mid range screens under an example, depending on the budget i would recommend the Lg 24 or Dell G24 for 1080p. For 1440 the LG panels are decent over all, if not the Gigabyte got an ok panel and if not that i would go with the cooler master 27".

If you have any questions feel free to ask~

If you haven't bought the PC yet, there is a 6750 xt for 4500kr on proshop which is cheaper right now; https://www.proshop.se/Grafikkort/ASUS-Radeon-RX-6750-XT-DUAL-OC-12GB-GDDR6-SDRAM-Grafikkort/3067570

Amazing! Good to know. I think they want 27'' to have two monitors in the future, but probably will start with a single one. The budget is not super big, but I will check with them how much they want to spend on it.

I would recommend to use all the budgetfor the main screen, the gaming exprence is 50% based on what screen you got now days at least if you got a decent computer that got the specs to run the resolution you want. Two screens are nice, but you can get a 24" 1080p screen or an older 1440p 27" for 300-1500kr.

If they have a higher budget then 4300 kr for a screen I can send some high tier screen, the LG 27" is mid.
